and Family Resource Center
CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN
COACHELLA VALLEY ARE SUFFERING
Approximately one in every eight Coachella households, many led by single mothers, lives in poverty. Many more lack basic resources and extended family support systems essential to preventing child abuse and neglect.
No child should have to live with heartbreaking abuse and neglect, in constant fear of pain and suffering. Every child deserves a safe home and loving family. Sadly, this is not the case in our communities today.
With an average of 10,000 child abuse reports per year in the greater Coachella Valley, 1,000 in care, and another 9,000 needing services, it is imperative more resources are provided to solve these issues. We are growing our programs and services to address these staggering statistics and create a strong family for every child.

BUILDING TOWARDS HEALING
Coachella Valley’s new Children & Family Resource Center (CFRC), is essential to addressing these needs. Serving the entire region, the CFRC is located at 39830 Portola Avenue, City of Palm Desert. This new facility will not only connect us to more families for immediate assistance, it will also provide more desperately needed services and comprehensive coordination of care.
The $5 million funding, acquisition, and endowment of this essential centrally located resource center with two buildings totaling more than 13,000 combined square feet demonstrates our enduring commitment to keeping kids safe and creating strong families.
These two buildings will also connect many more families to essential programs for ongoing support, opening new doors for them to flourish in the community, no longer living in isolation.
FORWARD MOMENTUM
The new CFRC is making remarkable progress, with construction right on schedule. The new facility celebrates its grand opening on January 23, 2024.
Hosting various Community Partner rooms, a Volunteer Staging Hub, a Food Pantry, Prayer Room, and an Urgent Needs closet, the Center will serve as the launch point for assistance of disadvantaged families in the Coachella Valley community.
Through our comprehensive approach to prevention, healing, wellness, and growth, we are able to meet children and families at any point in their struggles, mitigating crisis, creating stability, and offering opportunity for growth. We look forward to the positive impact this center will have in the lives of those in need in our our community.
