Olive Crest in the Pacific Northwest recently hosted 445 guests at its 18th Annual Gala Auction: “Home Run for Kids.” A huge success, this event exceeded the goal of raising $400,000 for the benefit of at-risk children and teenagers. This year’s elegant event took place within the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue, Washington. The Annual Gala Auction was baseball themed, and guests participated in various activities, including a silent and wine auction, photo booth, wall of wine, live auction, and dessert dash.
The biggest highlight of the evening was the arranged “Experience” for guests, who walked through the life of foster children as they were taken through the stories of Olive Crest Alumni, Mia and Vanessa. Guests “witnessed” the two girls removed from an unsafe environment into the loving and nurturing care of an Olive Crest family. The finale included participants walking through a set of 1,655 photos of children that represented how many still need a home within the state of Washington. This journey was very impactful and shed light on the work Olive Crest does within the community.
